Southwest quail hunting

Heritage gundogs is proud to offer Desert quail hunting at its finest.

The southwest is one of the top wing shooting destinations among serious sportsmen and women from around the globe, and for good reason! The Southwest offers the opportunity to harvest three different species of quail, in one of the most unique landscapes in North America. The sheer magnitude of the challenging desert terrain can be an enormous roadblock for many traveling hunters. Luckily, with local expert knowledge Heritage Gundogs has you covered!

We know the birds and the land. Our professional guides, along with superb gundogs,

will make your trip to the southwest fun, productive, and full of memories.

This is wild quail hunting at its best. Wing shooters will have the opportunity to harvest the

Desert Grand Slam: Mearns, Gambel’s, and Scaled Quail.

Mearns Quail - aside from being the perfect game bird to pursue with pointing dogs, are also known for their handsome plumage and an explosive covey flush, that is unparallel among upland game birds. A true trophy bird of a lifetime.

Gambels Quail - the comical topknot they sport on their heads makes them easy to identify.  Notorious for evading hunters with their diversity of tactics. Gambel’s are wonderful birds to pursue, for both pointing and flushing dogs.

Scaled Quail - famous for their quick little legs, they are excellent sprinters. They’re also notable

for being fast-flying targets that provide one of the most fun and exciting wing shooting

opportunities available.
